 The "Jealousy" Coat/Thank You's

Hey everyone.

It's crazy how "jealousy" is so apparent in people. It's almost like envyous people put on a coat with the word JEALOUSY written on the back of it. It's just that apparent. It seems like people hate to see others being sucessful when it's not them. They always try to make you feel bad or knock something that you have down because, again, their jealous over something you have that they want.

Now I don't mean to sound self centered or rude in anyway by this post, but today was just a huge eye opener to how many people HATE to see others have something good. Even people who you thought were your friends, are sometimes the ones throwing the biggest "jealousy" punches. I almost hate sharing good news or something nice that I have with other people because they always try find the negative in it. What the hell? I'm trying to share something cool with you or something that I'm excited about, and all your doing is trying to find every flaw you can.

That's when your a** gets the cut. I just can't deal with negative people's bullsh** anymore. They only want to hold you back so you stay on "their" level.

So if your dealing with any jealous/envyous people in your life, it could be at your job, your school, or hell, even in your house. Don't feed into their negative attitudes. Because again, they want you to stay on their level so you don't succeed/recieve anything that they don't know how to get.

Word of advice to all the haters out there, "Stop trying to put others down for something they have that you want, and try to figure out how you can get it for yourself."

ON ANOTHER NOTE.

I'm really excited about how many people are joining or want to join the "TAGGED" game. I've read everyone's blog who has participated and even read all the comments. Some of you don't seem to understand why you were tagged or even why we're playing this game at all. Well, that's cool. I'll explain:

I'm new to the whole blogstream thing and just thought this game would be a cool way for me and maybe some of you to get to know one another. To me, friendship is key to having a successful blog. Maybe I should've changed the rules to were you can only tag someone you "don't" know. But again, I don't know many of you. So for those of you who are playing, thank you! I hope everyone now knows my purpose for starting the game.

Let's see how far this thing goes. Post your thoughts.

 Rambling

Hey B-Streamers.

Just felt like doing a random rant since I haven't done one in awhile.

First off, the Sean Bell murder. Now if your not familiar with the name Sean Bell, he was an African-American New Yorker who was shoot 50 times after attending his bachelor party at a strip club called Kalua Cabaret in Jamaica, Queens. The club was being investigated by seven cops for prostitution at the time. Click the link here Sean Bell Murder to find out more the case. Now for a cop or anyone to shoot a man "50" times is a little inhumane to me. This guy had a future wife and kid who now have to live their lives without husband/father. It's just ridiculous the level these cops took the situation and are still some how found not guilty...

This week has just been a really laid back week for me. Didn't do to much, kinda kept to myself most days. Needed a little break from the insanity of some people. I went down to one of Anchorage's most popular music stations today and got a tour for a class I'm taking. It was pretty cool. The lady showing me around has her own radio show and wanted me to give a couple of shout outs. She also wants me to sign up for their summer internship program. I think I'm gonna do it, I don't really want to work in fast food or retail all summer long.

Why do people find it necessary to walk across the street while wearing nothing but dark clothing on when it's dark as hell out? Why? Are you asking for someone to hit your a**? I almost hit about 3 people on my way home tonight who were walking across the street wearing all black. Come one, let's have a little bit more common sense than that.

John Mayer's new song "Say" has to be one of my favorite songs right now. Everytime I hear it, it just puts me in a good mood. Oh, and also his song "No Such Thing". Those two songs are amazing.

I wanna encourage everyone to visit this new site called Project New Era. It's site dedicated to helping inform people of stories or cases that didn't get much media attention, stories primarly focused on the African-American community. The site is run by a popular blogger named Jia, writer of Jia-tv.com and the video blog Jia-TV. It's a great site, really informative and lets you know of the stories that aren't hitting your local news stations.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend. Post your thoughts.

Making A Change (Response To "NotCallie")

Hey everyone.

I feel the need to touch bases on something that maybe many of you are dealing with, but in particular, a blogger here on blogstream who goes by the name of NotCallie (writer of the blog, "Not The Life I'd Planned") has been going through for years. So this is a blog response to her.

For those of you who aren't familiar with NotCallie or her blog...

NotCallie's blog, "Not The Life I'd Planned" is basically about her life and how unhappy she is with the way things turned out for her. She emphasizes a lot on her broken marriage and how she's just completely lost in life. She also states she wants out of her marriage, but is just to weak to do anything about it. Same goes for her life in general. She feels disconnected from everyone and everything including God, and does't think she belongs. She just feels defeated.

Now I'm sure we've all been in a place like that before, were you feel like everything in your life has gone wrong or you just don't belong. Maybe not to the extant that NotCallie has, but somewhat similar. Being in a place or state of mind like that can really take a toll on you. It slowly breaks you down until you just lose sight of your life and the good/purpose in it. I remember starting high school and feeling like I didn't belong and just feeling misreable. Eventually I got to the point were I just gave up. I only saw the negative in people and in life, and just wanted out.

Life can be a little crazy at times and can seem to hard to handle, but "where there's a will, there's a way." When you really want to get out of a situation that you know isn't good for you anymore, YOU have to be the one to get up and start making some positive changes, cause no one else can do it for you. YOU have to take control of your life. Everything in life has a purpose and it's our jobs to figure out exactly what our specific purpose is.

You also have to learn to be strong and cut the negative aspects out of your life, including people (go read the post "Aggravation" for more on that subject). If your friend, girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband whatever, isn't treating you right anymore and you're just not happy, it's time for you to move on. It's just not a healthy situation for you to be in anymore. Move on for you, and if not you, move on for your friends and family's sake because I'm sure they don't want to see you in any type of pain or suffering.

So, to NotCallie...

I wanna encourage you to find the stregnth you need to move forward in life and start making some changes. Do it so when people think of a happy and fulfilling life, they think of you. I also wanna encourage you to talk to someone professional who can help you with some of your problems. Again, "where there's a will, there's a way" and I hope you find yours.

That goes for anyone. Post your thoughts.

 MEDIA: Boyce Avenue Promo

Who is Boyce Avenue?

Boyce Avenue is a Florida-based indie rock/pop band who hit the music scene back in 2004. Since then, they've charted at #3 on myspace's "Top Unsigned Florida Artist" and has over 14 million views on youtube.

After 4 years of much anticipation, Boyce Avenue finally releases their debut album "All You're Meant To Be" worldwide on March 25th. These guys are an extremely good band and will surely top billboard charts in 2008.

Boyce Avenue - "All You're Meant To Be"

Click here to watch the Boyce Avenue "All You're Meant To Be" Promo Video or check them out at their myspace page, Boyce Avenue MySpace.

You can buy a copy of their album "All You're Meant To Be" (which is on sale for $9.99) from their Official Website or on iTunes. It's money well spent.
